More About Us Stephanus Gustavus Smith (Fanie) started this practice in 1979 after completing his B.Comm(Accounting). B.Contm (Hons.) and Certificate for the Theory of Accounting (C.T.A.) at the University of Pretoria. He went on to complete the South African Accounting and Auditors Board Examination in 1981, to qualify as an Chartered Accountant After achieving this qualification he went on to register with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and SG Smith & Kie was formed to act as Public Accountants and Auditors. He is a highly respected businessman, who has represented the company in many different capacities on a variety of forums. He was the Chairman of the Pretoria Junior Afrikaanse Sakekamer (Pretoria Business Chamber of Commerce) and also acted as Chairman for all the Junior Afrikaanse Sakekamers (Business Chamber of Commerce) at the Afrikaanse Handelsinstitnut (AHI). During this time, he also sat on the Tax Committee for the Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut SG Smith prides itself on the quality of the services rendered to clients. The firm currently specialises in Accounting Services Auditing, Forensic Accounting, Management & Tax and Secretarial Services. The Forensic Accounting department was formed due to the high demand for these specialised skills and SG Smith’s experience in this unique area.
